SignerOS is an air-gapped, offline operating system that runs from a live USB and turns a regular PC into a Bitcoin transaction signer and wallet creation device.
After some new reviews and testing, we made several important improvements and released v1.3.0.
This version includes:
- Better change validation: SignerOS now properly reads and validates the whole script instead of just looking for your key inside it. This helps detect cases where a key is present in a script but does not actually control the coins.
- Better multisig validation: For 2-of-2, 2-of-3 and other multisig wallets, SignerOS now checks the actual public keys to make sure the change belongs to the same group of cosigners.
- All transaction inputs are checked: We found and fixed a case where one valid input could make a fake change output appear valid. SignerOS now makes sure that all inputs being signed belong to the same wallet.
- Timelock improvements: Fixed some issues in how timelocked scripts are handled.
- More useful warnings: SignerOS can now warn about some unusual multisig change outputs that are technically valid but may not be recognized correctly by wallet software.
The main goal of this release is to make change validation more robust, especially for multisig transactions.
